We performed lion dance at City Farmers Market in Duluth to celebrate Lunar New Year. The audience loved it and the performers were real troopers. This was one of three performances they did on this day, but they made sure to make them all great presentations.
We performed lion dancing at The Jackson International Food and Art Festival in Jackson TN. Their mission is to spread cultural awareness, promote cross-cultural engagement, and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of residents throughout West Tennessee.
Champion lion dance trainer Shifu Ray Petersen from Lincoln, Nebraska came by to help us fine tune some of our lion dance skills and to add to our repetoure. He trained with us all weekend and he worked us hard. We all felt very lucky to have this opportunity to train with him.
